Castor Oil Pack

What is Castor Oil?

Castor oil is a thick, odorless oil made from the seeds of the castor plant. It is known as Ricinus communis. It originates in Africa and India and is used for cosmetic and medicinal purposes.

Castor oil has many potential uses but the most common reasons for considering its application are:

  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Swelling
  • Gas and bloating
  • Constipation
  • Detoxification
  • Fibrocystic breasts
  • Skin tonification
  • Induce labor

What is Lymph?

Lymph is  the fluid which travels through our lymph nodes and helps protect us from infection and disease.

The topical application of castor oil is a favorite method to help stimulate the flow of their lymph. You can put the oil directly on your skin or take it orally in small amounts.  I recommend using a castor “oil packs.” Castor oil packs are made of cloth that is soaked in castor oil and applied to affected areas.

When castor oil is absorbed through the skin (transdermal), several positive things occur:

  • The lymphocyte count of the blood increases.
  • Lymph flow improves throughout the body, speeding the removal of cellular-related toxins and reducing swollen lymph nodes.
  • As toxicity is reduced and health improves, the pH of the saliva becomes less acidic, and the Peyer’s patches in the small intestine become more efficient at fat absorption, which is essential for the formation of hormones, brain health and other components necessary for growth and repair.
  • There is a general overall improvement in organ function and a lessening of fatigue and depression.
  • Laxative: One of castor oil’s most traditional uses is to stimulate digestion, relieving temporary constipation.
  • Hair replenisher: boosts hair health (dry ends) and moisturizes the scalp.

We should all give it a try!

Remember a little dab will do ya.  Castor oil is sticky and you’ll want to wear old clothes when applying.
